About Valders High School



We have an outstanding music and drama program.  Sixteen different sports are sponsored at Valders High School, along with many clubs including  FBLA, FFA, F.I.R.S.T., Forensics, Jazz Band, Key Club, NHS, Pom Pons, Solar Olympics, S.M.A.R.T., Stage Tech. Club, Swing Choir, and Student Council.  Our departments consist of Language Arts, Spanish, Family & Consumer Education, Mathematics, Science, Agriculture, Technology Education, Business Education, Music, Art, Physical Education and Health, Social Studies, Special Education, Computer Science, and Guidance.

 

Valders High School is part of the 8-school Eastern Wisconsin Conference, which consists of Brillion, Chilton, Kiel, Manitowoc Roncalli, New Holstein, Sheboygan Falls, Two Rivers, and Valders.  Conference competitions include, basketball (boys and girls), volleyball, golf, cross country (boys and girls), football, forensics, solo & ensemble, wrestling, track and field (boys and girls), baseball, softball, and swimming (boys and girls).  Valders also competes in gymnastics (girls), and soccer (girls), but these are not Eastern Wisconsin Conference sports.  The Eastern Wisconsin Conference also sponsors an all-conference band concert and a Conference Art Show. 

 

Facilities include a 6-lane pool, a 3-court gymnasium, a science-agriculture-technology center including a very modern computer lab, a large and spacious cafetorium (that includes a full stage equipped with theater lighting and sound) , and a beautifully renovated library.  The high school has 4 large computer labs which each contain between 25 and 30 desktop computers and 3 portable labs each consisting of approximately 30 laptops.  There are an additional 25-30 computers available for student use in the center of the library. 

 

Many challenging core (social studies, math, science, English,) courses are available to students, and a wide variety of vocational and technical courses are also offered.  UW-Manitowoc, Silver Lake College, and Lakeshore Technical College are all less than a half hour driving distance from Valders, and UW-Green Bay, UW-Sheboygan, Lakeland College, Lawrence University, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Fox Valley, and Fox Valley Tech are all within an hourís driving time from Valders. 

Students are given many opportunities during their 4-year careers.  We have two bands and two choirs, and every four years, the group travels to Orlando, Florida during Spring Break to perform at Disney World.  Every other year students enrolled in Spanish III, IV, or V are given the opportunity to travel for approximately 10 days to Spain or some other Spanish-speaking nation.  FBLA students and physics students frequently travel to Six Flags Great America to participate in class-related activities at this amusement park.
